A bike ride offers space for contemplation, so it’s not surprising that the tranquil soundscapes of Luka Schuurman and David Knap have now become a backdrop for the bicycle as a musical instrument. In ‘Cycles’, Schuurman and Knap explore the rhythms in the bike and the sounds of the city of Amsterdam, or Tilburg in this case. Together they run off with cyclic rhythms and metal percussion, which are being manipulated with effects and synthesizers.
