Wobby Wonderland

Wobby Wonderland is a DIY publishing & printed matter fair, where independent publishers, artists and collectives sell their publications, zines, art prints and other printed matter.

The 4th edition of our cozy fair will take place in collaboration with and during Murf/Murw Festival. Location is Hall of Fame Tilburg, close to the central station. Besides showcasing more than 40 international publishers at the book fair, Wobby Wonderland will also offer a free program.

🎉 During Wobby Wonderland we are releasing Wobby #35 - Crappy Families, with a cover by Aisha Franz! You can meet some of the featured artists in Wobby #35: Tja Ling and Keanu Schipper will give - free - drawing sessions (see below), Jo Rüßmann (DE) is a participant of the book fair, and Melcher Oosterman, cover artist of Wobby #34, will draw your portrait.

 

✏️ Unleash your inner creativity, and join our FREE drawing sessions, guided by talented illustrators. The workshop sessions are suitable for all levels, but we have limited spots, so make sure you’re on time!

⏰ 12:00 - 13:00: Automatic Drawing Session with Tja Ling
Tja Ling Hu will guide you through her Automatic Drawing Session, accompanied by music. Tja Ling is a visual artist, and ‘Volkskrant Illustration Talent of 2023’. Her beautiful drawings depict a world of surreal, dreamlike, and sometimes gloomy, characters and landscapes. Tja Ling’s inspiration is often rooted in her family heritage, so we invited her to make the centerfold and artist print for Wobby #35 - Crappy Families.

⏰ 13:15 - 13:30: Portrait Session by Melcher Oosterman
Get your portrait drawn by illustrator Melcher Oosterman. Melcher is the cover artist of Wobby #34, Designer Dreams. His work consists of an eclectic mix of colourful, vibrant, and detailed worlds inhabited by lively characters. Melcher will use his illustration skills to draw your portrait for only € 10!
Also from 15:00 - 15:15 and 16:45 - 17:00.

⏰ 13:45 - 14:45: Dungeons and Drawings with Keanu Schipper
It’s game time with Dungeons and Drawings, a TTRPG drawing session, hosted by Keanu Schipper. You might know Keanu from his fabulous designs for the Wobby Club Nights. He is also a talented comic artist, who made a story about massive overpopulation in the future that you can read in the new Wobby issue, Crappy Families.

⏰ 15:30 - 16:30: Shaping Texts with Teuntje Fleur
Teuntje Fleur is a graphic artist from the Netherlands. Funky shapes and colours are Teuntje’s core business, so you will be making playful use of them. Experiment and explore fresh ways to incorporate text into your illustrations and create something entirely new!

⏰ 17:00 - 18:00: Drink and Draw with Leti Confetti of Grafik Brussels
Grafik is an illustration space & bookshop in Brussels. They host 2 Drink and Draw sessions each month, so you’re in safe hands. Join in for a fun hour of drawing fiesta! Animated funky mashup of crazy drawing challenges every 15 minutes by Illustrator Leti Confetti of Grafik. End this day filled with inspiration and creativity with a pencil in one hand and a drink in the other!
